Share A Slice, the London pizzeria with a purpose, has announced it’s now donated 13,000 pizzas through its charity partners and weekly food drives.
Share A Slice’s pizzerias work on a one-for-one model – for every pizza bought, they donate one to those from all walks of life; whether that be those affected by homelessness, NHS workers or tube and supermarket staff during the pandemic. The philanthropic pizzeria was founded by Raj, 28, and Sandeep, 29, following a conversation with a homeless man outside Old Street, which highlighted the need for more sources of warm food for the community. This inspired their one for one model, donating one of their mouth-watering pizzas for each one purchased at either of their locations.
Serving up authentic Neapolitan style pizza with a modern twist, Share A Slice has two locations, one in POP Brixton and one at the Rooftop at Bussey Building. To cook this style of pizza, the duo travelled to Naples and trained at Pizzeria Notizia under the watchful eye of Master Pizzaiolo, Enzo Coccia. Having learnt to make high-quality, authentic pizzas, they have combined quality food with a great cause.
Their menu includes all the favourites along with innovative specials such as spicy ‘Nduja on a pumpkin base with bitter Orange Peel; Smoked Buffalo Mozzarella, Amalfi Lemon & Piennolo Tomato or a Five-Cheese Pizza with Smoked Salmon.
Founders Raj and Sandeep explained: “At Share A Slice, we think everyone deserves to have access to a hot meal, which is why our one for one model is at the very core of our brand ethos. Living in a pandemic for the past year has hit vulnerable groups hardest and stressed the importance of giving back to the local community.
